I guess it's because in 1980-1990s they were more focused on the actual entertainment value. While, now it's all about making money off older series? Trying to "reinvent" it into something it shouldn't be.

I.E. the recent TMNT movie, the Speed Racer movie.

You realize that that animation from the opening of the original TMNT cartoon was five times better than the actual animation they used in the show itself, right?

The series they did before this new one was more accurate to the comic books, I'm sure you're aware of. The old ones are difficult to watch now, they're so dated and bad.
