Alicia goes to see a goat

Alicia knew she needed to confront the girl who held her heart, but she wanted to start off this new step of her life with a clean slate. And for that, she needed to throw away old grudges and forgive old friends.

She made her way to the barn. Leaning against a support beam, Alicia let her eyes adjust to the dark and looked around until she finally found who she had come for - a mid-sized goat with a large black spot on it’s back and beady little goat eyes. Alicia felt her heart start to race; she hated that goat with a passion. Last time she had been at camp, the goat had butted her in front of all the girls and left a giant bruise that hadn’t faded for weeks.

Alicia took a few deep breaths and reminded herself that she was here to make amends. She walked over to the goat.

“Look,” Alicia began. “I don’t like you and you don’t like me, but I’m extending the olive branch, so to speak.”

The goat looked at her blankly.

“Here’s the deal. You don’t butt me, and I’ll stop suggesting to Bela that we have goat for dinner - between you and me, I think the idea’s growing on him, and it doesn’t really appeal to me. Although I would imagine it appeals far less to you…”

The goat began to look bored.

“So… are we cool?” Alicia asked, and getting no reply, gave the goat a big hug.
