Threnody tells Chas she'll be gone for a few hours, and figures he's been wired enough these past couple of days (maybe it's the "space coffee") to entertain himself. She grabs a bottle of wine, in lieu of anything particularly strong, and meanders down to Elizabeth's apartment, where she knocks at the door. Persistently

Elizabeth makes Threnody wait for about ten minutes before she actually answers the door. In that time she's just been...standing quietly by the bay windows, looking out and pretending not to hear anything, not to feel anything.

She doesn't say anything when she does answer, but her eyes flick to the wine bottle before she meets Threnody's gaze, steady and shuttered.

Threnody goes in pretty much whether Elizabeth wants her to or not. "Do you have glasses, or do you wanna share the bottle?"

She's up for either.

Elizabeth doesn't answer at first; she pushes the door shut and lays her hand against it, closing her eyes for a moment.

"There are glasses. Sit down, I'll get them." Steady, even, calm, together.

Threnody uncorks the wine bottle while she waits, and takes a few seconds to mentally prepare herself for this. It doesn't take long, though, and Elizabeth needs to talk to somebody.
