Western front: arguably quiet.

I met a guy that calls himself Papa Midnite, the other day. Big houngan from New York. I like him. We've talked a lot. Don't know what his interest is yet (though I can maybe guess), but he's been pretty down with the Nexus ridiculousness thus far ( Read more... )

I've got a pile of shit to take care of, business-wise, earlier on in the day, but eventually, I'll just have to let it go and what happens happens, so yeah, I think I can manage something like a costume if a party's happening.

A costume, huh? What are you going to go as?

We've got this paint that goes in paintball rounds for full-combat training exercises, that sticks about as well as anything does on the reflective coating of MJOLNIR armor plates, but washes off when the armor's loaded into the maintenance system. So I figure I'll give my armor a coat of dark green, load up a voice-changer program with data loaded from historical recordings, and go as the Master Chief.

(Hey, I never said I'd have time for a very good costume...)

"Papa Midnite", huh? Never heard of him, but I'll ask around and see what I can come up with.

Good about the kid, though. I worry about him.

Not a clue. I might have to hit my own reality for a few hours and pitch in there, but I'll most likely be free for the night.

Yeah? I'm supposed to meet up with him later. He dresses like a pimp. Might actually be one, for all I know.

Me, too.

Does shit get weird on Halloween back home? And good, because I want to see this costume of yours.

Great, a houngan pimp. Now the Nexus really does have everything. You think you need backup, give me a holler and I'll be there.

Incredibly weird. Usually fomori and werewolves for the most part, but sometimes the namebreakers come out to play. Magic users, I mean. The Weaver usually gets 'em in the end, though. The same goes for you, chica.

Will do. But I think he likes me all right, shouldn't get fucked up. (I realize I am frequently wrong about this.)

Namebreakers. 'Warlocks'? And you'll see it, Texas, don't you worry about that.
