[06:00:54] <@Hino> First thing I've noticed is that apparently the trolls use a lunar calendar
[06:01:24] <@Hino> Since Karkat's wriggling day is the 'twelfth bilunar perigee'
[06:01:47] <@Hino> The perigee is the point when something is in the closest point in its orbit to earth
[06:01:58] <@Hino> So the 'bilunar perigee' is when both moons are as close to Alternia as they can be
[06:04:06] <@Hino> One sweep, if I recall, is 2.17 years
[06:06:10] <@Hino> If Karkat's wriggling day is the "twelfth bilunar perigee of the sixth dark season's equinox"
[06:06:43] <@Hino> Thennnnnn
[06:06:56] <@Hino> first off Alternia's a lot more wobbly than Earth
[06:14:05] <@Hino> ... another thing i am noticing
[06:14:20] <@Hino> "twelfth bilunar perigee of the sixth dark season's equinox" makes no goddamn sense
[06:15:09] <@Hino> i think i am going to translate this into "equinox of the sixth dark season, which takes place in the twelfth bilunar perigee"
[06:15:44] <@Hino> if that's the case, then this means there is a dark season every couple perigees
[06:18:20] <@Hino> Would we be okay with assuming that there are only twelve perigees in a sweep?
[06:20:32] <@Hino> if so then each perigee would last roughly 66 days
[06:21:15] <@Hino> If there's six dark seasons, and the sixth dark season is the twelfth perigee
[06:21:32] <@Hino> that means that a season is equal to a perigee
[06:22:10] <@Hino> If summer is the light season and winter is the dark season then we have very short seasons, but they cycle very quickly
[06:31:17] <@Hino> Terezi mentions a 'third autumn' too, so :|a I guess it's roughly two seasons a perigee
LAND OF PULSE AND HAZE:
Is similar to the Land of Wind and Shade. The primary difference is, rather than "THE BREEZE", he has "THE FLOW" that carries everything to where it needs to go.
For all its appearance of BLOOD OH SHIT, the blood of the Land of Pulse and Haze really does act like water.
The blood-water of the LOPAH used to be constantly moving, pumped by the hearts in the ruins, but the Denizen of the land stopped THE FLOW, causing it to pool up and stagnate.
With the Flow stopped, his consorts lost all contact with each other and were lost and isolated and very sad.
His consorts were, naturally, crabs. Hermit crabs.
In further detail, the consorts, being hermit crabs, were generally isolated from each other, however they kept up with the details of the world by sending messages and items in the Flow.
As a result of the stagnation of the Flow, the levels of blood kept rising, threatening to flood the Land.
There was quite a bit of puzzle bullshit, which as he told John was a bunch of "look at this stable time loop" bullshit.
The Knight of Blood's job was to restart the Flow with power over water, similar to the Heir of Breath and his power over wind and the Breeze.
Basically there are a shitload of parallels to make between John and Karkat here.
