The place where I volunteer on Thursdays is full of people that are always completely sweet and much too appreciative and make you feel really loved and good about yourself and good about the world in general, plus on my walk there I pass this place that has a guy that always hits on me.
it's icelandic. i was researching iceland and came across icelandic naming conventions. their system is patronymic, where one's 'last' name or 'personal' name is composed of your father's first name, followed by 'son' or 'daughter', of course, depending on your gender. thus, if you are john's son, your 'last' name is johnson (english example), et cetera.
my last name means mother earth's daughter. 'hún jörð' means 'mother earth' (i have no idea how to pronounce it) and of course, 'dóttir' means 'daughter'. i originally wanted my last name to be 'nobody's daughter', but i can't find any english -> icelandic on-line translators.
