Art makes me nauseous. Someone realizes the infinite beauty that fills this world, the complexity of the human mind, or the indescribable passion that comes with certain primal acts, and being the didactic, arrogant human being he is, decides he needs to capture it, create it, own it ( Read more... )

i know this is a somewhat negative entry, but the whole thing is beautiful. the words, the imagery, its all great. art can be nauseating, but only because you can never own a moment, as you said, and thats the great pitfall, because no amount of effort or utensil availability will ever be able to fully capture the beauty that serves as an inspiration. the only hope with art is that that moment or emotion can be regurgitated at least to the point where it becomes beauty for someone else, or yourself, serving as a release for your own personal absorption. you can never capture or pause a moment, but with art, you can attempt.. so pessimistically, all art is really just bittersweet interpretation.

exactly what i meant, but that's the part that was getting to me- the fact that you're attempting something simply because we're so bent on having our own interpretation of everything, we can't seem to just let it be. the fact that (this is a completely different branch than what i started out with but still applies) we cut down forests for paper so that we can make our own interpretation of those trees we just destroyed.

The arrogance is in creation of a new world, not the capture of our own.

Wow, I don't mean to have my tongue all in your ass or anyhting but I absolutely love how you write and how you think. I'm a big art lover myself, in fact, I am an artist, so I really shouldn't like this entry as much as I do- but I can't help it. It's just so dope.
