Thrifty gifty?

Do you give thrifted/yardsaled/fleamarketed gifts? Do you tell the recipient or keep it to yourself?

I totally give repurposed things. Most people I tell, and they appreciate it. Sometimes I don't tell them until they exclaim how much they like it and/or where I bought it :)

Giving anything fun this holiday season?

i give very few presents at the holidays. I spread around my thrift finds all year long. but for sure, holiday gifts are going to be thrifted!

I love thrifted gifts! My favorite thrift store at the holiday times has a gift sale where they take all of there BNWT stuff and sell it it is a madhouse but its a lot of fun. Otherwise my aunt collects coca-cola and some of our best finds (I tag team with my mom on this often) have been thrift/flea market finds. My favorite for her was a jug of syrup.

I'll buy thrift-gifts, but I usually don't tell the recipient where I got it. Some people on my gift list do not appreciate thrifting and think I'm merely trying to be cheap. (Au contraire. Finding a really good, appropriate gift through thrifting may not take a lot of money, but it usually represents a SIGNIFICANT amount of time and thought.)
