Use Azureus for Bittorrenet, get the Divx codec from divx.com, and use Adium (www.adiumx.com) for instant messaging. Fuck iChat.

You don't need any virus protection (at the moment, there is still nothing to worry about.)

Use Transmit if you need FTP access to anything. Check versiontracker.com for anything else you might need.

(Then, GIVE ME YOUR COMPUTER)

I used Azureus with a BitTyrant plugin on my winbox.

Divx is amazing, I just downloaded the codec.

Have been using Adium (although I don't im much).

I haven't used Transmit, but I'll check it out. Right now the FTP client I have is called Cyberduck, its supposed to be pretty good.

I have Azureus for now, but the Mac version is weird and it's trying to be all video-networking site ala Youtube and it's kind of lame. I think it's called "ZUDEO" or something. I don't know if there's a normal version. I've heard good things about uTorrent though, so you might wanna go with that. I just like Azureus because I can download individual files within the torrent instead of the entire torrent...

I'll try it, definitely. I got a program called AppDelete that apparently gets rid of all components and files that are associated with any application you delete. I pretty much have no reservations about dling and trying new programs. Reason 103,208,843 why I loaf my Mac.

I got Quicksilver but all I've pretty much used it for is opening programs that aren't in my doc. It looks like you can do a lot with it but it's going to take some time before I really know wtf I'm going to use it for.

Personally, I'd rather control iTunes from iTunes.
