lol! Well technically I didn't realise it was a lock-in until we tried to leave and had to wait for the dude with the keys :D

Old men and lock-ins. The curtains are drawn you are locked in with strangers, you don't know the rules, leaving early may be offensive, staying late would be to over-stay the welcome ... and then there's the local dialects ...
Even men in their decaying mid-30s have secret knowledge of quiet after hours ale-hours (but yes, bring a false beard and swot up on your real ales. ;) )
