I went to the cinema on my own today to see Brokeback Mountain. I felt very brave, and it wasn't so traumatic, except that the film made me cry.

Me: Hello, can I have one ticket for Brokeback Mountain please?

Woman at desk: One?

Me: Yes. One.

Woman at desk: *pitying look*

Aah, I so want to see this. It doesn't seem to be showing at any of my local cinemas for some reason though. :/ I'll probably end up going on my own. Oh well.

I must tell you about my candle in the cafe moment sometime. heck, I'll do it now. They wouldn't light my candle! They lit everyone elses/ I called the waiter over and insisted he light it, and then he said something really stupid about only lighting them for couples (like candlelight was exclusively romantic or something) I can't remeber what I said but it was a gentle version of "Shut the fuck up and light the fucking candle"

Also reminds me of an in-joke about shops refusing to sell haagan daas ice-cream to single men ...
