isn't eastie to medford technically a long-distance relationship?

This story is eventually about the recently concluded season of Supernatural: I'm pretty good about making it to the gym 4-5 times per week, but it has nothing to do with my routine or my physical endurance or anything like that, it's about whatever season of TV I happen to be currently mainlining on my iPod. When I was watching the third season of ( Read more... )

When I explain that I don't watch SPN because all the racist/misogynist stuff bothers me, I always have to go into a long diatribe about how this is my personal decision and everybody has their own threshholds and I watch plenty of shitty nonsense tv myself, heh. As evidenced by the fact that when you say "agitprop art" the first thing I think of is Justin Taylor's anti-Stockwell posters. wtf!

Am glad to hear about the guest room, though; it may be bougie, but they are sure nice to have. *g*

Anyway, in conclusion: awesome painting, right? Also, sometimes, even when you're trying to do the best that you can with your clueless white guilt, you still fuck up.

That is a pretty great story, kel. Thanks for telling that. :) Also, good luck with the wall covering plans! I actually always have to have stuff all over my walls, or I feel like I'm living in a dorm room, you know? Though, oddly, when I did actually live in dorm rooms, I always had stuff all over the walls, too. So, I don't know how that works. But if your walls are gross, especially, getting that shit covered will make the room feel so much better!

I started to wash them with a sponge and OH GOD. The water was DARK BROWN AND FILTHY. I ended up mopping them repeatedly with a wet swiffer. STILL DIRTY

Wow, I know you wrote this forever ago, but I really, really agree with the stuff you wrote about S5 of SPN.

Basically, I feel the wide stream media should just lay off of religion. Although I'm Christian, I find it extremely irritating whenever mainstream culture takes it upon itself to force any religion on the masses. The religion itself is rarely described accurately; injecting a reinvented religion into a secular subject alienates those who are familiar or incompatible with the mythos in question. I don't understand the point of doing it, other than to manufacture levity. Which, it didn't even achieve in SPN if, as you say, the whole point of introducing God into this season was to point out how Heaven is like the Mafia.

So, yeah. This season bothered me strongly and I haven't watched much of it.
