I saw my friend heyiya recommend it and this story was one of three yuletide stories I actually read. I was talking with her in IM last night and telling her how much I adored it, the world building and the little details of the realities of this clearly best of worlds that's still pretty damn horrendous and yes, I had Children of Men running in my background the entire time. I said i'd leave feedback and then, of course, didn't. So I'm really glad it's someone on my flist, bc I'd have probably failed to tell the author just how brilliant I thought the story was ( ... )

This was so amazing. Atwood could look at this and despair because her story wasn't nearly as far-reaching. Thank you!

Thank you! I don't know about that, though, I saw Ms. Atwood speak last fall and even at her advanced age, I'm pretty sure she could still kick my ass.

Maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit, but your story has the well-researched scope that hers only hinted at.

There's like 75 things I wish I had been able to make space for in this story.

I see no reason why you can't immediately WRITE MORE omg that fic has destroyed me forever.

Also, seriously, oooooooooomg, when I was writing this, I totally wished you were still here because I would announce something new I'd decided about the story (CHINA! AIDS PANDEMIC!) to J on the way to the T in the morning and then talk about it forever and if you had been on the other side of the office, I could have forced you into that non-con workshopping as well. Good times!
