Hello, this is one of Sares' RL friends who follows the RP. I realise this is rather random, but all my comments seem to be. I'm very very sorry if this bothers you in any way and please feel completely free to delete this comment.

I've thought of some sort of Pern NML crossover before; do you have any ideas for the effects of between travel and its relations to Headquarters’ teleportation technology?

*g* Sorry to let you down, but as I recall the official mod-position on these things seems to be that there can't actually be a Pern/NML crossover, because that would invalidate the Totally Original Characters No Really thing we have going.

Which hasn't stopped Beth from using Diane Duane characters in her arcs, or having Cassandra be the Cassandra, but wtfever.

Anyway. Between travel is probably a form of purely magical transport, uncontrolled by computer, and it would be fascinating if someone brought a kind of it to NML, but it couldn't be from Pern, or we'd be violating copyright and some of us still want to turn this into a TV show or a movie or a comic book one day...

Oh, I'm not let down at all! It would have been interesting, of course, but NML is a wonderful universe all on it's own. Besides if it was ever connected to another fandom, Pern is probably not it. I can't imagine any permanent crossing could improve anything either.

Any crossover at all would probably have to be either vague mention ("Jayne" knowing Caleb, or Tasha meeting Sandman Death) or "fandom/AU" material anyway (JungxHayes shipping, say). I was mostly just squeeing over finding anything Pern mentioned at all, since I didn't realize any of you were fans.

That's true... NML movie or comic book would be great, but so complicated considering the form it's in now. It works really well with LJ so fandom is still possible though. Hm, actually I think Sandan has fanart/ is fanart-ing NML, but Sares has probably mentioned already.
