I did drive around Rochester and took pictures...Actually, I found what could have been great shots, but I was afraid to get out of my car and make the pictures. Walking around with anyone during the day is good, honestly. At night, you probably need more people if you plan on going somewhere that's out of the way, but I can walk down various places on St Paul at night with no troubles, and it's not because I'm a guy. I'm 5'5 and I have the confidence to look people in the eye and notice them.

I imagine if you had someone or a few people who were street savvy to watch out for you while you took shots, you wouldn't have any problems whatsoever.
