Welcome to throwingchairs, a community run by Melissa {innocenceagain}, Linh {pass}, Bebe {theyspunaweb}, and myself, Casey {defeated}. Please read this post thoroughly before requesting to join.

In case you are too lazy to go to the userinfo to read the rules, I'll post them here as well.

5 SIMPLE RULES

1. CREDIT the maker (and community if possible) in KEYWORDS for icons, USERINFO for banners.
2. COMMENT on the post if you're taking any of the graphics.
3. JOIN and FRIEND the community. That's how you'll get updates.
4. No direct-linking! Use photobucket or imageshack.
5. Do NOT contact us in our personal journals. If you have questions, comment on the most recent post.

Please note that any rule-breaking will get you banned permanently.

Also, since every community is a bit different, here are some frequently asked questions concerning our rules and the community.

Why was I rejected to become a member?
» There are numerous reasons why one might not be accepted as a member. If you have only been a Livejournal user for a short period of time and only have graphic communities and journals added, you will not be added. If you do not have credit for any graphics, you will not be added. If you have had your journal for three years but only have 1 update, you will not be added..

Where should I credit?
» If it is an icon, you must credit in keywords/comments. If it is something other than an icon, like a banner, then you must credit in your userinfo. Simply crediting the maker in the friends only post will not do.

Do the makers here take requests?
» Most likely, no. We are not a requesting community. We might, from time to time, take a few, ONLY IF we have an overabundance of time. We do, however, take requests at separate communities. If you would like to request icons, we suggest you join backstage_icons, mothicons, vanishedicons. So if you'd like to request, your best bet is to join one of the above communities.

Can I modify your work?
» Absolutely not. Most of the graphics will probably be animated anyway. Unless we say that we will modify them, you may not. If you do, you will be banned and reported. No questions asked.

Can I share your work with others?
» Although it is flattering to get more members who want to be part of a graphics community because they like what they've seen, you may not save icons and re-distribute them elsewhere. If someone likes a graphic you have that we've made, simply tell them to join our community.

What happens if I am banned?
» That's the end. Although it can be hard to tell the good members from the bad, we do not have time to go through every member and get to know them personally. We spend hours making graphics and do not appreciate the simple rules being broken.

What programs do you use to make your graphics?
» Paint Shop Pro, Animation Shop, Ulead GIF Animator, Photoshop Elements, Photoshop CS, Imagready.

Lastly, if you would like to be an affiliate, then please comment on this post. We do not require you to post a button in your comment because thus far we will only be posting text links in the userinfo. It does not matter to us whether you use a button or a text link when linking us back to your community or icon journal.
