My students might have trouble with the concept of osmosis, but sophistocated humor is no problem for many of them. The following exchange is a good example

The next day:

Me: So what does our egg feel like now that osmosis has taken most of the water out of it?
Charles: (immediately) An old testicle!

This kid manages to make me laugh explosively or blush (or both, as in this case) almost every day. It's exchanges like this that make teaching fun.
