Chacos are a sports sandal, used commonly by hikers or people who like white-water rafting. They leave you with funky zs for tan lines on your foot if you wear them frequently.
All of my friends wear them as they are outdoorsy people and I resisted for quite some time. But then my feet started hurting. They have crazy good arch support...and now they're pretty much the only shoes I wear outside of work. The arch support and the heel support are second to none. A bit pricey, but they are known to last forever. I've had mine for about a year now, and despite wearing them with increased frequency, they still look brand new. I can't figure it out.
It was a really fantastic tour day. So many people on the lake, and the tour boat was filled but not packed.
It was a 90-minute tour, and I kept singing the Gilligan's Island theme song in my head. I think everyone thought I was crazy because I was on this boat tour by myself? And apparently it's one of those things that you're supposed to do with other people? I don't know, people are the worst.
This is adorable and gave me a lot of feelings about Chicago. I love the architectural tours. Did they make jokes about Wisconsin? From my recollection, they loved to make jokes about Wisconsin.
Not today. Today they made jokes about St. Louis and how we sent all the shitty water down the Mississippi and it's okay because St. Louis got its revenge and now they bottle that shitty water and sell it as Budweiser.
I do know that feeling! I always had it in DC and it's a wonderful sensation as a newly minted adult. I kinda miss it now, actually, now that I'm thinking about it...
It's weird. But I guess I chose it and I've lived in a lot of places and I never got to choose it before.
That, and walking around looking up at buildings and seeing all the people who have lives and their own stories...I'm a short person, but there's something wonderful about feeling so tiny in a big city.
Like I'm still young and earnest and whatever. I don't plan on losing the enthusiasm and energy and earnestness any time soon. But you never know when/how these things will fade.
Aw, thank you. You know how enthusiastic I am. It was such a great day, though now my face and ears are crazy stuffed and my nose is sunburned which doesn't help with the stuffy nose. :( Oh well. Happy Birthday, America. Sorry your party is so lame.
