Wait, was it clear it was ...'s ....?

Episodes were totally fanservice, only serving to point out that, of course, Emily Gilmore is going to be one's favorite.

(Also, An Unmarried Woman was mentioned, and Kelly Bishop played the lead's best friend in that.)

I thought it was clearly his. It seemed like too much time had passed since the Wookie hook-up (Wook-up?). And I think they were trying to make her ending at least somewhat parallel to Lorelai's beginning, so the father would be someone whose life is entwined with hers.

I am now praying that a friend of mine hooks up with a wookiee and I can use the term "wook-up."

Wook-up happened in mid-spring, wedding happened in November. WAY too long ago, it's Logan's, or theoretically Paul's but it sounds like R hasn't seen Paul in awhile. I choose to think he wound up with Ann/Egg/Bland/Line Girl Who Worked at the Shoe Place.

Oh my goodness, I literally forgot Paul existed for a moment.

My first thought was that Logan is Rory's Christopher, the guy who isn't right for her but who she can't give up and who is now linked to her forever through this child. And that Jess will be Rory's Luke. He just gets her and gave her the idea she needed and she just looked so happy when she told him about the writing she had done, and then he looked at her through the window. That's not going down yet, but someday. I want nine seasons of future fic.

I think that that parallel is easy to see but I think that's not a direct correlation of those two/four characters. I also (and this is just me!) didn't see anything on Rory's side of the thing. Jess, darling. You're better than pining over your HS girlfriend and stepcousin. Who is pregnant with another man's baby.

Admittedly, I'm seeing what I want to see because I have always liked the idea of Rory/Jess. Not as kids, when they had a really screwed-up thing, but now as adults. Rory hasn't noticed yet, and Jess isn't pining exactly, but they'll keep bumping into each other over the years and something will spark again someday. It's all in my head obviously. I'm actually glad they didn't clearly pair her off with someone by the end, as if there have only ever been or ever would be just those three options in her life.
