Random Ficlet on Nino's Birthday
Title: I'm Anxious
Pair: (all implied)Sasaki Nozomix Nino and Ohmiya(?)

Summary: As Nino gets older, his time for fooling around gets shorter. At least that's what Nozomi wants to convince Riida of.
Note: This has been going around in my head for a while. I want to multichapter it but Long Vacation is still not over and another Ohmiya marriage fic? (Boo? :P)
Ohno enters the main lobby a little puzzled. Sasaki-san had visited their common shoots at times but there was no doubt that she used to come to see Nino. Not that, they had ever announced it like that. No sane person in entertainment would. But it was a given, even though she politely listened to Aiba's animal adventures her eyes would be on Nino and Ohno knew that if he asked Nino would tell him that they were dating. Except it was rude to ask. No one asked such things. It was like asking to peek into someone's score report in school. Not that Nino's personal life was of great concern to Ohno but when Nino's supposed girlfriend showed up at his individual shoot it was a little...weird. Not to mention troublesome. What with the Nino and Nozomi rumours and Ohno and Nino closeness, paparazzi would have a field day if they were to know that Ohno had seen Nozomi in private. And Ohno dreads paparazzi field days. The last one they had concerning him was a headache he doesn't want to remember.
With all this and more running around in his head Ohno forgot to wonder why would Nozomi want to see him privately anyway. He was half expecting a request to go shopping for Nino's birthday. Though retrospecting the reaction to the Ninofish picture Ohno had given Nino last year, he probably wasn't the best choice for the whole birthday shopping thing.
Nozomi bowed to him when he spotted her sitting elegantly with one foot crossed over the on one of those brown leather sofas in the lobby. He tossed between a cafe and his dressing room as he approached her with a kind smile.
"Sasaki-san." He bowed as he called her and instead of greeting back her hand tightened a little around her purse. Ohno realized that she was tense. Maybe Nino's first birthday since they were dating was an even bigger deal than he'd originally thought.
"Ohno-san. What I want to talk to you about. It's not an easy thing. Actually it's very embarassing.I'm very embarassed but I've been so anxious about this for a long time that it's hard to progress in the relationship without getting this clear."
"There. There Sasaki-san I'm sure Nino would love whatever you get him, though I don't think you should draw him things, maybe cooking would--
"What?" She asked furrowing her eyebrows.
"What?" Ohno mirrored.
"What are you talking about?"
"Nino's birthday...present...So it's something else?" Ohno scrunched up his nose.
Her laugh tinkered through the lobby and Ohno felt a little better at the mix-up by its melody, "He's right your confused expressions are cute."
"He?"
"Nino."
"Nino...talks about me?" The only thing that would surprise him more would be if someone told him Nino had framed his Ninofish drawing and put it on his bedroom wall.
"Quite a lot actually."
"A lot?"
"You're his best friend right?"
"I'm his best friend?" Really Ohno was learning a lot about his relationship with Nino.
"Isn't that a little obvious Ohno-san?" She asked confused.
"Ah. You mean all that on TV? Isn't that all professional though? I think outside all of that we're not really all that close. I mean personally we're friends but we're very normal aren't we? In fact we're a little less than normal. I'm sure Nino doesn't really think I'm his best friend."
"So you're not close to Nino?"
"Not...really? I don't think I even know what he'd like for his birthday present so no...not very close."
"Then...I made a mistake."
"A mistake?"
"By coming here. There was no need." Sasaki turned to leave but then she did a 180 degree and bowed deeply "But thank you Ohno-san, I was relieved from this conversation. I'm grateful."
Ohno didn't get his little audience with Nino's girlfriend at all. But good thing about Ohno is he doesn't really go deep into things and at times like these, that's what helps him get through his work and relax at the end of the day too.
