Thirty-One
It was a long time before Jun felt it safe to slow down and think again. At the base of it there was too much to think about but for the time being Toma’s eerie silence was of more importance. He kept on threatening to slip from the bike and the rain certainly didn’t help. Gradually slowing down to a stop Jun looked around making sure they weren’t tailed.
He parked the bike inside the curb of a narrow alley and pulled Toma to the furthest corner where there was a short of shade protruding from the building on one side.
Toma immediately leaned against the wall and slid down looking at the raindrops rolling slowly down his fingers.
Jun heard the raindrops calming his nerves and suddenly, a wail.
Toma was crying, head pressed back into the wall chin upturned as he screeched. He brought his hands up to his face and muffled his tears.
Was freedom worth the price?

“Well look-ey here I found dirty little rats.” A sugary sweet voice roused him from his sleep. Jun looked up in alarm to a very familiar face.
He couldn’t put a finger on who it was but he knew he wasn’t a friend.
His eyes caught onto the hand disappearing into the insides of the other’s coat and he quickly kicked him. He fell with an outraged cry. But before he could pull out his own gun someone jumped onto his back, “I got the traitor Tegoshi!” a gruff voice snarled and the one named Tegoshi got up from where he fell, smile wiped off his face and replaced with malice.
“Look out!” The one behind him screamed but too late and Toma had crashed the lid of a trash bin on Tegoshi’s head while Jun used the distraction to throw the guy holding him.
He was about to reach for his gun but the results from last time flashed through his head and he wanted the to preserve the Toma who looked so alive now in the faint rays of approaching dawn. He turned and started running, calling back to Toma who joined him on the bike soon.
Thirty- Three
They were being tailed. He turned left and right on the road to avoid the occasional gunshots and Toma held him tightly from behind, face pressed into his back as he whizzed past the roads trying his best to lose the trail following him.
A fatal shot and they swerved off the street, falling in front of the gates of a park where a few morning joggers passing by inside gave him a weird stare. He ignored the burning scratches on his arm as he shot up, pulling Toma to a standing position before starting his search for a place to hide.
And suddenly he saw him:
An old enemy but now a symbol of hope.
And before the thugs from Kiiroi could stop and grab them he ran to him, hoping he’d agree to help him.
A/N: Triple update for so much lateness. Btw, Even I don't know why they aren't sexing it up.
