I’m SO SORRY this took so long. Hope you like it. First fic of the year bb <3

If Toma had to assign a word to describe his (ex) boyfriend it would be ‘difficult’.

Nino was difficult but not purposefully, it wasn’t the same as him being a brat. He was difficult because Nino had a tendency to think and over complicate, find meanings in things that didn’t have any or ignore a few in others that did. Toma had a hard time sometimes keeping up with Nino. In a way dating Nino had been very close to dating a girl. They’re relationship had never exactly reached the stage of ‘who is more important? Me or your work?’ but they got close, really close and many times at that.

Doesn’t change that Toma loves Nino.

A lot.

Toma thought as he looked into Ohno’s calm eyes that this must have been what drew these two close. Toma had a hard time trying to understand Nino’s relationship with Ohno when Nino first confessed and he accepted. But as he got to know Nino more closely he understood that when Nino felt restless and confused a man whose answer to everything lay in blank looks and confused squinting was what he really needed.

Someone whose answer to everything lay in silence, nothing at all one would say but Nino needed that other extreme to balance him out.

Ohno’s pace was so nice and slow that he only had the sheer power to hold Nino back instead of being overwhelmed by him.

“Have you talked to Nino?” Toma asked nervously. He was afraid Ohno might judge him. It’s his fault after all and well there were plenty of people to witness it, Ohno being one of them.

“Nino was upset.” The answer was more vague than he’d have liked. He didn’t want to recount the painful details of their breakup if Ohno knew already. Ohno smiled a little, “Nino always had a little problem with sharing.”

Toma closed his eyes mostly in embarrassment, Ohno didn’t need to spell it out that he know but there was a part of him that acknowledged what Ohno said. He knew about Nino’s little sharing problem from first-hand experience.

Nino was jealous, insecure and unmerciful by nature. Everyone in the Jimusho still remembers his ‘Aiba is mine’ Junior days. Not only that but he could also hold a grudge forever. It had always amused Toma how Nino lied right through his teeth in all those interviews that is until of course the grudge was against him and now he wished that all those things Nino said in those interviews about understanding his partner cheating on him and taking her (him) back was true.

Suddenly there was a surge of anger through him. Why is he so apologetic? It wasn’t his fault; he didn’t want to go drinking in a large group. He was always a bad drunk, part of why he didn’t go drinking all that much either. He told Nino he didn’t want to go but after the concert Nino was in high spirits and excited and probably wanted to have sloppy, drunk sex to calm his over active nerves down.

But with a booze-filled belly and an increasing blood alcohol level, the synapse gaps in his brain became so huge that by the time his eyes could send an impulse to his lips, they were already on Jun’s.

And that was SO embarrassing because Jun’s his best friend and sure he’s hot and all but a lip-lock?

Eww~~

It takes his slow reflex to realize the person he was making out with was not Nino much, much longer than Nino’s does. Because of course Nino is hyperaware and super attentive when Jun’s hands are up his shirt but when it comes to public discretion all that booze Nino ingested kicks in and he becomes hysteric. Throws two whiskey bottles at him, one he catches while the second shatters on the floor, and a beer can, that hits him square on the head. Nino proceeds on to let the whole club know how he shall gut out Toma and feed him to sharks and collapses unconscious, and Toma is almost relieved because what he really feared hasn’t happened, but then Nino stirs from where he decided to collapse at Sho’s feet and croaks out their break-up before decisively calling it a night (still at Sho’s feet)

Jun looks terrified and he has shifted all the way to the other end of the couch (which isn’t all that faraway) but the gesture is enough. Despite the loud music still booming around them the club is definitely a lot quieter than before (mostly because the DJ stopped what he was doing to stare)

Sho and Ohno carry Nino to the taxi while Toma follows frightened that Nino would wake and brandish a broken bottle at him. But he climbs into the taxi with Ohno because Sho has to take care of a drunk Aiba and a guilt-stricken (not to mention also drunk) Jun.

Ohno was quiet all through the ride and Toma was afraid he would be judged. But that wasn’t his biggest problem. His biggest problem was the unconscious Nino lolling at Ohno’s shoulder. Toma would grab Nino and force him into his own lap…

…But with what right?

And that…that’s what he wants to find out now. Now that it’s morning. Now that Nino’s awake and Toma is still insecure about the liberties he still has with Nino. He couldn’t even muster the courage to give Nino the aspirin he would have surely needed. Ohno did that. Ohno made Nino breakfast. Ohno ate breakfast with him and probably had a long talk him. (with Nino mostly bitching about Toma no doubt)

And now while Nino still refused to step out of the bedroom while Toma was in his house Ohno was there giving him advice on how to deal with him.

“But you know what I think?” Ohno started with a munch on his buttered toast (Toma was wondering why he was eating breakfast again) “He’s being a big baby about it.”

…what?

“And you’re being a wimp.”

…huh?

“He’s clearly just waiting for you to come in there and sweep him off his feet. You know he believes in princesses and stuff. I mean there has to be some negative after effects of all those times he spends gaming rather than sleeping. Which by the way you really need to protest upon because it’s seriously unhealthy and I’m the one who’s blamed for fish…”

…was Ohno engaging in mindless chatter? And was Nino not really very mad? Is the world not really round?

“…and if he’s still being a bitch just accuse him of kissing me.”

…WHAT?

“He kissed you!” Toma said his voice reaching a pitch that was above human hearing capabilities.

“Yeah…sure. We’re Johnny’s boys. We’re hot. It happens.” Ohno waved matter-of-factly.

Toma really…really didn’t get Ohno’s logic. But what’s important is that he has dirt on Nino and he’s going to fight him until Nino takes him back.

So with newfound determination he marched over onto Nino’s room. Nino has nothing against him! He has nothing to fear of course!

“YOU!” Nino shrieked when Toma marched in, “GET OUT!” and threw a pillow at him. It hit him in the stomach with a soft thud and fell to the ground. Toma stepped over it. Toma plucked the second pillow right out of Nino’s hand before it could be thrown and grabbed Nino’s hands before they could throw punches at him.

“Stop thrashing! And stop being a hypocrite! You kissed Ohno!”

“What? I NEVER! YOU LIAR!”

“Don’t deny it…Ohno told me just no-
-about that Toma I kind of made it up so that you’d confront him.” Ohno said from the doorway before slipping out and jamming the knob.

And just like that Toma’s determination drowned out of him. Every single drop and he let go of Nino as though burned.

“Shameless, characterless boy. Cheats on me and accuses me of doing the same.” Nino said to him…only not to him but at the wall because technically Nino wasn’t talking to him.

Toma sighed at Nino’s rigid figure, his arms crossed over his chest.

Sweep him off his feet

Toma gulped once and counted to three, blow out all his fears out in the breath he released and hugged Nino from behind.

As a positive sign Nino didn’t fight him off immediately…only when he started talking.

“It didn’t mean anything. Nino…” He allowed the dramatic pause to cool Nino off, “it really didn’t.” and tightened his hold.

So far so good.

Nino was deadly still though and it meant either of two things:

1)He’s slowly forgiving Toma

2)He’s taking a moment to plan how to get Toma off him while leaving a fatal injury behind.

Toma slowly lowered his head and placed a soft kiss behind Nino’s ear. Suddenly he flew across the bed and landed flat on his back with Nino’s knee pressing against his stomach.

“Don’t! Don’t with those dirty lips of yours!” He punctuated the sentence with a hard shove against Toma’s chest with the knee that was already pressing down on it.

“Oh…Oh…so my lips are dirty Mr. I-molest-people’s-asses-for-fun!” Toma almost spat and Nino’s eyes narrowed dangerously.

“You! You’re doing it again! You’re turning this on me! None of this is my fault!”

“How is it not your fault?! You dragged me there and got me all excited about sex then left me alone drunk and frustrated with other drunk, very friendly people!” It sounded lame even to him but if he was to be honest that was really the reason behind his actions.

“Wow! You made the effort of trying and finding an excuse. Shocking” Nino gaped mockingly, “I thought you just came by to break up.” He added seemingly casually before letting Toma go.

“Break up? You did that already! I’m here to make-up!” Toma shot up straight to sit up and make use of the height advantage.

“And this is how you do it! By screaming at me and…” Nino seemed to take a deep breathe, as though fighting down his temper but it came loose anyway, “…and telling me Jun is better in bed than ME!”

Toma wasn’t sure but was that a sob on the last syllable?

So…so was this the problem? Was Nino really not lying in those interviews? Did he blame himself as Toma’s reason to going astray?

Toma shook his head. What the hell was he thinking? He didn’t go astray; it was just a stupid mistake.

Maybe, Toma decided, it was time for another hug.

“What are you thinking Nino?” He said this time going for a hug from the front so that Nino’s hands were trapped between their chests, “Where did this bed business come from?”

“Oh my god…you don’t even use a bed. Tell me you don’t do it on the kitchen with him. I mean…we haven’t done it there yet…why-

Toma squeezed him hard enough to shut him up. He was annoyed Nino didn’t trust him but the guy was clearly upset and insecure…it was a little cute, “You…just stop.” Toma knew he should have sounded more severe but he couldn’t help chuckling, “Why the hell would you think I was involved with anyone else like that.”

Nino slid his chin down his shoulder and buried his head there, “Because you were having so much fun.”

“I wasn’t. I didn’t like it.”

“Really?” He mumbled again causing Toma to giggle from the combines effect of Nino’s tickling breath and his insecurity.

“Really. He wasn’t you.” It sounded a little cheesy but he could feel Nino’s mouth stretch against his shoulder so he guessed it worked.

Maybe…it was time.

He let Nino go and looked into his face. Nino wasn’t all out bawling but his eyes were red.

He cupped his face. So cute that Toma’s heart started beating faster at the sight. He suddenly felt nervous again.

Can I…Can I kis-

But Nino had already leaned in and pressed their lips together in a chaste kiss.

Toma got up from the bed and pulled on Nino’s hand.

“What?”

“Come, let’s do it on the kitchen counter.”

Nino freed his hand and threw a pillow at him, “Idiot. Get me coffee.”

Well…Toma guessed sex could wait.

Ohno was reading the newspaper in the living room nonchalantly. At least it would have been nonchalant if the paper wasn’t upside down.

Suddenly Nino’s voice called out from the bedroom, “Jump me when I’m cooking.”

Ohno grinned and held his thumbs up at Toma.

Toma shrugged…nonchalantly.

A/N: I wrote a LONG FIC! Aren’t you proud?
A/N 2: Feedback and concrit is ALWAYS appreciated. But please make sure you are being constructive and civil. The only reason I’m stating this separately is because a reader was rude and irrelevant just today on another fic of mine. I wasn’t exactly hurt. But I was irritated.
A/N3: HAVE A GREAT YEAR GUYS!
