I am currently deployed in an "imminent danger zone" overseas in support of the war on terrorism. Even though Bush likes to give Service Members like me raises I do not want him to be my president. I went to the beach the other day. It was mad fun. I swam like a half mile out to the reef. I didn't have any snorkel gear so I couldn't see under water that well even though it was crystal clear. In the United States and you smell something bad you might say, "that smells like shit". In Djibouti when you smell something bad you might say, "that shit smells really bad". Djibouti City is crazy. The people are very poor. Many, if not most of the people live in shacks that don't look like they should be standing let alone protecting someone from the sun in the hottest country on earth. This is my second day in Djbouti. It is very hot and it is only going to get hotter. The air conditioning is pretty good but the long walks across base can be killer. Earlier I was drinking a cold beer at the canteena at 1100 pm and still sweating. Oh yeah about the ugly girl paradise thing. Currently I am in a library on an Air Force Base in Spain. @ midnight tonight I get back on my plane and go to Djbouti City, Djbouti, Africa. I got to take a shower and change my socks.
