I've been toying with the idea of making this journal "friends only" for a couple of days, because I'm a bit tired of general LJ stuff (although not of my friends), so I figured at least in the short-term, the best way of dealing with that was:

I really don’t understand! I have had a few people on my LJ friends list leave then come back, make their journal friends only ect.. and they always say the reason is because general LJ bull shit.. what bull shit, I haven’t come across anything lame like that?

its like there is this whole LJ love-hate circle going around that I’m not aware of, which is probably a good thing lol

Nah. When I say general LJ stuff, I mean more the fact that my LJ is an open book. I've had my livejournal for just under a year, and in that time, it's been several things. At first it was just a way of staying in contact with a friend, JP. But up until fairly recently I was struggling quite badly, with depression, and I was using my LJ to meander thoughts, and keep in contact with people when I couldn't really face much face to face/even phone socialising. A bit like an online therapy, sorting things out in my head, trying to make sure I was upbeat, and I kept all of it public. A way of reinforcing in my own head that my depression didn't need to be squirrelled away, and that it wasn't something to be ashamed of. Even when I got negative comments posted from people who thought they knew me, my life was an open book

Oh ok, I see and I understand where you are coming from. Before when I was living in a dysfunctional family and hard a hard time functioning with them I had a journal, one your write in ect, and eventually I got passed it and happened upon it a few days ago. Its filled with negative things, form when I needed to write my thoughts. I wanted to open it and take a look but stopped myself and decided it was time I let it go, Now its in the “burn pile” and I intend on watching it burn.

Sometimes things are necessary and they aren’t needed. I just assumed it was another reason you were keeping it friends only since lately Iv seen a few people do that or leave in frustration because of someone else in love journal, I’m glad that’s not the case though.

It is unfortunate when it becomes necessary to go friends only. I had to do the same thing about a year ago when a nasty person who wasn't even on LJ decided to invade my journal and broadcast it publicly. Not fun!
