As pictures of RV doing weird faces are acceptable here, I submit this screencap for consideration. It really needs a caption if any one can come up with a good one. ( Read more... )

Euphemistically, it means "Stick it where the sun don't shine." (An Illya giving the finger seemed to require the caption, although the corresponding gesture is different in Russian culture.) However, a friend of mine who actually speaks Russian told me that the literal translation involves "offering the offended a 'dick with vegetable oil'", which I thought was simultaneously too hilarious and too homoerotic to not use. :)

That is hilarious. There is certainly something to be said for literal translations. One German-Russian insult that my grandmother told me about, "henna hausen dreck putzer" though I may have "henna" spelled wrong and I confess to using high German spellings for the other parts, translates literally as "chicken house dirt cleaner."

"Hey Illya, look at this. There's even a place for extra condoms here."
Sorry I just couldn't resist.
