I am on the hunt for a secretary desk (secretarie?). I have peeked around through ebay, but I don't think I want to pay the shipping costs. I have thought about going to Amish furniture stores. My next thought is antique shopping. I have seen one at Menards, but, let's face it, how good of quality can that be?

Definitely go to the antique stores...but be prepared to pay a bit. Depending on how "nice" you want to go, they can get pretty spendy!

There's a used/antique furniture store on Union ST just east of 52 in whose window I believe I have seen school desks.
It might be worth a look...
