It looks like a sea of diamonds and crystals out the window today. We got another dusting of snow last night. It made everything look that much more prestine outside.
I want to love winter but I can't dress for the weather AND dress for sitting at a desk in a hot office all day. If I put on the proper clothes for what the temperature is outside, I'll sweat off 50 lbs. by the end of the day.
We keep the thermostat pretty low. The upstairs stays at about 60 degrees with a slight windchill ;) I know that 5 degrees makes a difference, but I like to dress warmly. I would rather wear a sweater and socks during the winter inside and outside. When Grandma was alive, it was way too hot in the house! We dressed for summer inside. Growing up, we got to turn the thermostat up to 65 on the Sabbath!
Growing up, we kept the thermostat low as well, but it had a completely different effect on me. We kept it about 60 or 62 during the day, but Mom would turn it up to 65 or 67 when the students were there. I always ended up equating being cold with being poor. And that heat was something too good for just our family. I've spent the rest of my life looking forward to a time when I don't have to be cold any more. Being warm is strongly linked in my mind to being successful. To date, we've lived in leaky old houses that can't be kept very warm, but I still dream of someday living in a warm house.
Btw, I love sweaters too, but I wear a sweater any time it's below 75. It has to be over 95 before I start to feel hot at all.
Sorry for my bad english. Thank you so much for your good post. Your post helped me in my college assignment, If you can provide me more details please email me.
