Everyone I know who uses the diva cup or similar loves them. I keep meaning to try it and I'm still so off of a normal cycle I just forget. Yay nursing!
I've been using reusable sea sponge tampons for the past few months. They're ok, and no more icky to use than disposable tampons without applicators. They wash clean.
I'm thinking about switching to a cup, though, because at least for me, I have to rinse out the reusable ones really frequently on my heavy flow days, and I still get stains even then :p I'd like to stick with something reusable because of all the nasty chemicals in disposable pads and tampons, the oil, water, heavy processing, and all around environmental waste that goes into making them, and because I'd like to reduce my contribution to landfills :p It doesn't make me feel more of a whole woman or anything, but definitely less wasteful.
You can get a Diva Cup online for $17-20 bucks if you look around on Google products. But, I still think $30-40 is a deal in the long run for something you can use for 5, 10 years or longer.
