yay i loved the XC trip. it was so much fun.
highlight of the season, so far. definitely.
the way up was fun. i always seem to sit too far up on the bus and feel left out.
so i slowly scoot my way to the back until i am sitting with dillon and tyler and there are three people in one seat, and everyone was doubling up, when everyone had swore they wanted a seat for themselves.
when we stopped for lunch we all got hardcore tattoos that would make other teams scared of us.
i had a tiger. grr.
after that i sat with bailey and we listen to carlos' spanish music and it made us giggle.
then we sang "california" and mason almost broke my CD player because we were so horribly bad at singing.
so then we got there, finally, after like 4 hours of driving.
i had to wait a long time until my race so i got a little nervous.
while warming up i saw this girl. she looked really familiar. then i realized SHE WAS IN MY CABIN MY FIRST YEAR AT CAMP. holy crap. small small world.
first bailey, tyler, dillon, amy, and brittany ran. and they all did really good. me, ariana, and elizabeth were cheering them on and very happy for them.
then carlos and alex ran and they did SO GOOD! i was very happy for them.
then me, ariana, and elizabeth ran. i was nervous because all i wanted was to make everyone proud and for them to know that i did my best and i did good.
I PRed. by like 3 minutes! and I went down 8 minutes from my last race. 8 MINUTES!
i wanted to stop a lot but then i knew that everyone was just right around the corner and they really wanted me to do well and they were going to scream for me and encourage me. it kept me going, really.
Ariana ran a 33 and i was so proud of her. I almost cried, really. I'm so glad she is my best friend.
Right after i finished tyler came running up to me and hugged me and told me i did soooo good and she was sooo proud of me. i ♥ her. so right as i walked out of the shoot i knew that i had made people proud and that was all i wanted.
so then there was the way back. we stopped at this pizza&pasta all you can eat place. it was sooo good. these prissy girls made fun of our tie-dye shirts, though. which was not cool.
there were like the quarter machines where you put in your quarter and then you get the prize of the special one you put your quarter in and we all got pimped out rings, necklaces, an bracelets.
so then me, ariana, bailey, amy, and alex started talking and we established that all the cool kids were sitting right in the middle of the bus [us.]
hahaha and then we stopped at like this biker pub. it was funny and scary.
we went to the gas station next to it and i bought everyone that i had promised ice cream&popsicles. i bought then for them because they did great in the race ♥
then the bus got really cold and there was bad rain and lightning. so me and bailey shared a seat and told stories. i love her. she is so cute. and funny.
life is good.
being happy and proud of yourself is nice. ♥
