I'm not a fan of the idea either. I'd rather see more Afrocentric curriculum brought into the mainstream to create balance. Not teach kids they are better off learning away from people who look different.
thats exactly what I think! there's alot of African Canadian History that can be injected into the current curriculum, and as a matter of fact, my history class in highschool delved into that a bit, and it taught everyone alot of things. I just can't grasp the concept of learning away from others, I'd hate to think that these students are 'disadvantaged' because of their skin colour and the eurocentric system. I've always thought of Canada as a level playing field for everyone, which is why we pride ourselves of being a multicultural society.
