Today, after 9 hours of wild free-way driving, we arrived in Kingston, Ontario. I spent the majority of hour drive being rather amused by how blatently people seem to ignore the speed limits. As we got into Canada, the speed limit dropped to 100km, or about 50mph. However, we averaged a good 130km, aprox. 80mph, and people were still passing us ( Read more... )

Funny, that the first time I would cry in months would be in a dining hall of band camp while singing. It surprised me how much I'll miss Wakeshma. The thought that I'll probably never go back there again tears me apart. Granted, I could technically return for another summer, but it could never compare. The candle light vigil/ protest on Monday went very well, at least for Hastings. Based on various head counts, we must have had damn near 100 people there. But what bothered me was the lack of representation from high school students. I believe there were a total of 6 of us representing the youth of Hastings. The apathy is quite disturbing.

I left the window above my bed open last night and feel asleep to the sounds of a spring night and a breeze drifting around my room. It was wonderful. I really like alphabet soup quite a lot. For some reason the little letter shaped noodles amuse me. Not to mention that the soup taste good. The number of words you can make is almost infinite, only limited by your creativity, effort, and the letters you are given. Almost a metaphor for life. The show was great yesterday, with the exception of the seven stiches Alex had to have after an accidental blow to the face. Today during strike, everyone was subdued. It turns out that my ATYP English teacher went to the University of British Columbia and knew Devon. I guess it's a small world after all.

Opening night is tomarrow for the musical, 42nd Street. It's going to be fantastic, I hope. I'm anxious for this to all be over, I need my sleep.

There's something about sitting in my kitchen in the middle of the night, making popcorn on the stove and listening to music that makes life seem incredibaly simplistic and beautiful.
