[ Personality ] : Chel’s character is generally manipulative, but not in an evil way. She knows how to get what she wants and uses a lot of flirting/sex appeal to get it. This is seen numerous times when she’s negotiating a bargain with Tulio in the movie. She’s a big tease, but uses it to her advantage. She’s able to stay determined for her goal all the while, as well.
Some sense of loyalty is developed through her character as the movie continues. While her lies tend to cover up for the con artists, it’s clear that Chel genuinely wants to protect them. Going to Spain became less of an escape and more of a future with Tulio. Even after the slight jealously rivalry Miguel gets for her, she gives him a peck goodbye. Towards the end, she risks a lot to stay by their side, and after she’s saved, her first goal is to go back and check on Tulio.
Upon first meeting her, it’s easy for one to tell that Chel is very adventurous. In fact, it’s one of the first thing she tells the pair - that’s she’s just looking for adventure. She only originally agrees to help them so she can get her escape. She looks forward to it all, the excitement and thrill of being somewhere other than where she is. She’s just down for a good time and being a little reckless while doing so. Her motives are never clear, so it’s assumed to be her personality.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] : Chel’s greatest strength is her manipulative behavior. She’s able to control Miguel and particularly Tulio to get what it is she desires, which is gold and Spain. She makes sure to stay resourceful and put the good word in, but her mind is never deterred from her original goal. Chel’s also there for whoever needs here - if she’s close enough to them, of course. She’s willing to look out for her friends in what can almost be called a protective manner.
Weaknesses? Chel’s good at putting on a front, but when it comes to bluntly stating serious emotion, she’s not so hot. When she wants Tulio to want her to go to Spain, she says so just like that. She refuses to take the first step in confessing such things in case she gets shot down. If someone makes the first move, and she likes them enough, she’s happy to comply.

[ Sample ] : She had been walking around for what seemed like hours but it was most likely no more than ten minutes. Chel glances wearily as she walks, taking in the foreign environment. Where was the gold? Where were Tulio and Miguel?
She gets a few odd stares but most of the passer-byers seem to ignore her presence.
What's going on? She crosses her arms as a chill overcomes her. Waking up in the middle of a park, drenched and confused, she certainly didn’t have this is mind when she planned adventure. She also notices a strange marking on her wrist, right below her palm. So many questions for such a curious mind, but she does her best to hide the slightest thrill she gets out of all this.
She lifts her full lip to a smirk - she’s always been able to get her way out of situations like this, all she had to know was figure out what was happening.
“Excuse me.” She laughs lightly, tapping your shoulder. Her arms are no longer crossed, they're by her side with her hands folded behind her back. She was the manipulator, after all. There was no way he could get where she wanted to be if she wasn’t. “Mind telling me what’s going on?”
She leans forward to show her slight anticipation, biting her bottom lip. Worried about this place? Hell, Chel was born for adventures like these.
