John K has been running a mini animation class on his blog lately, and one of the tasks was to render a 3 dimensional object (in this case a toy)... i suck at perspective and 3 dimensions and pretty much all technical aspects of drawing so i took on the challenge to learn a bit.

learn that because your first few marks won't be right at first, so you might as well make them loose and confident. don't fake it, just put that line down on paper. I want you to do this lesson again and again but this time use ink, perhaps ink + brush so you won't have to erase and so you can get used to making the marks confident, loose, and bold.
after that, go back to an eraseable medium because you'll have to learn to love the process of editing editing editing.
saying that, i love how you can see the edits here. you can see your process and how your brain is 'seeing'. The image on the left is really good.
