Title: because you're in me (drabble)
Pairing: Yesung/Ryeowook
Rating: PG-13
Word count: 506
Summary: Yesung and Ryeowook exchange farewell gifts. Pure sappy fluff.
A/N: Inspired by
a video I was watching where KRY was singing Let's Not, and it looked like Ryeowook was wearing a necklace with two linked rings while Yesung was wearing a necklace with a single ring.
Written for
shiryu_yugure, I hope this makes you feel better from the onslaught of homework. D:
... And I need to get back to contest fics instead of writing everything but contest fics. Weekend, where have you gone?!
ETA: Well, according to
shiryu_yugure and another friend of mine, who both went on a pic hunting sojourn for me, basically... both Yesung and Ryeowook wear necklaces with a pair of linked rings. Yesung's
here, and Ryeowook's
here. (Guys, I'm trying to be really calm about this, but I swear, I'm kind of shaking right now from the cute. Almost-identical couple rings-ish necklaces, okay, I'm literally shaking.)
___
yesung's hands are warm and familiar at his throat, and ryeowook relaxes into his hold and closes his eyes, leaning back against him and savouring the last few quiet minutes they'll have before he has to leave for china. he feels yesung kiss him on the top of his head before dropping another kiss at his temple, then on his cheek, and it almost - but not quite - distracts him from the sudden feel of cold metal at his neck, contrasting starkly with yesung's touch.
"hyung?" he asks questioningly, but yesung shushes him.
"keep your eyes closed," he orders softly, and ryeowook does as he says because he trusts him, shivering a little as the cold metal chain is looped around his neck. a necklace, he thinks, feeling yesung clasp it at the back of his neck, and another soft kiss pressed to his cheek.
"you can look now," yesung's husky voice says, and ryeowook opens his eyes, fumbles for the chain, brings it up before his face as yesung wraps his arms around his stomach and rests his chin on his shoulder.
it's a simple enough pendant, just two rings - one smaller than the other - interlinked, but they're locked together securely and when ryeowook tugs gingerly at them, they slip and slide within the loops of each other and don't separate. his eyes well up at the symbolism of the necklace, and on impulse he turns his head and meets yesung's lips, kissing him sweetly and revelling in the feel of his arms and lips and his familiar scent.
he reaches into the back pocket of his jeans while still kissing yesung and brings out a chain, practically identical to the one yesung's just given him, marvelling inwardly at their synchronicity before he takes one of yesung's hands and presses the necklace into it. yesung pulls back from him, surprise written all over his face, and opens his fingers to see the chain, curled up in his palm.
"you got me something too?" he says, letting the chain fall from his fingers, watching as it lengthens and straightens and the afternoon sunlight glints off the pair of intertwined platinum bands threaded onto it.
ryeowook laughs. "we had the same idea, apparently."
yesung looks at him then and smiles, and ryeowook's breath catches in his throat (like it always has, from the first day he saw yesung, from the first time he fell in love), and then yesung reaches out for him and kisses him again, and ryeowook forgets about his flight, forgets about china, forgets about everything except yesung and how much he loves him, how he needs him like he needs air to breathe, how he's worked his way into every bit of ryeowook's life and soul, how he's carved his name into ryeowook's heart.
later, on the plane ride, ryeowook stares out of the window, stares even when clouds have blurred out korea, but his hand never stops clutching the joined pair of rings hanging next to his heart.
