You've forgotten much, haven't you? You'll have to relearn everything you once accepted, except you won't believe that you ever knew it...I would not be able to survive without my memories. I don't understand how you do without yours.
I've heard vaguely about your kind. Arrancar, it is? I'm not sure what that means, though.
I once thought I could convince the newcomers, but the City is best at doing so. No one believes one man, but you'll see enough people that claim to know you, enough people that have fought you and feared you and befriended you, that you'll start to wonder. You'll find new wounds on your body and new things in your room that seem like they've been there a while but that you don't know where they came from. And if you ask, very nicely, the deities may give you a convoluted answer that will tug at the back of your mind.
My kind -- that being just me -- isn't human, nor particularly mortal. Not magical, but naturally immortal, given decent circumstances. I'm afraid you have me all wrong. I'm intrigued by the lot of you.

Your kind is not shinigami, and not arrancar. And thus, your kind, whatever you call yourself, still shouldn't be surprised not to know of Arrancar.
