delurking is fun.

Alex was right all along, of course. It made too much noise. It had no staying power, and it was basically a bad investment.

The ADA had an annoying self-righteous smirk when she was right. Yes, it had been adorable to begin with, but now Alex’s smug expressions tended to put Olivia in a mood.

Olivia checked out of the car door, to make sure no one she knew could see her. She strode up to the store front, and did a quick check behind her. All clear, so far.

“Look, ma’am, it’s used.” The store clerk looked numb with boredom. “I can’t refund you, ok? It’s unhygienic.”

Olivia glared. “It’s perfectly fine. It was only used once.”

The guy behind the counter gave her a knowing once-over, which irritated Olivia further.

“Look, it cost an arm and a leg, and it’s a piece of shit.”

“Our vibrators are top of the line,” the guy said, in a monotone. “We can’t help problems regarding individual tastes.”

“You’re con-artists.” Olivia snapped. Then her eyes narrowed. “I assume all of your business is above-board? I don’t need to be asking any questions, do I?”

The man flushed with annoyance. “Please leave.”

Just great. Alex was going to be so smug. She turned to go.

“Olivia?”

She’d tripped over some guy behind her. Some guy with a wide-grin, his face slightly red with embarrassment.

“Elliot?”

Alex was right all along. They should really stop buying their sex toys so close to Elliot’s neighborhood.
