[Castiel has been, like always, wandering the ship. He's mainly been doing it to keep an eye on things. He's been on alert since the incident with the stars and the cardinal, and, well, since he never has to sleep, he's been patrolling practically all hours of the day and night

[A few hours after the normal 'dinner' time of the evening, Katara finds herself wandering the halls. What for, you wonder? Well, she's not really exploring, but she is meandering to and fro. There's a lot on her mind after all.

But hey! That's a .. familiar face, up a head. Sort of. Not really great memories, but she certainly remembers him. Cas..tiel. Katara lifts a hand for a little wave from just a ways down the hall.]

[Castiel awkwardly returns the wave, as if he isn't used to the motion.]

Hello. Katara, right?

[Geez, poor guy doesn't know how to wave? Whatever else must Katara get him used to?]

Yeah. You're.. Castiel. You're wandering pretty late; something up?

[Oh, just wait until he tries small talk, Katara. It's wonderfully awkward.]

Oh, I've been keeping an eye on things because of what happened last week.

[Attika walks past Castiel without even noticing him, carrying a load of--is that a 9 iron? and...that, that's a driver. What is she doing with golf clubs?--a load of golf clubs in her arms. She seems singularly focused on the hallway in front of her, and remarkably alert, considering how late it is.

...She's also muttering to herself. It sounds rather like she's telling her shadow to go away.

Speaking of her shadow, did it just move?]

[Castiel watches the woman carefully as she passes by, frowning in confusion at her actions.

He catches the movement in his peripheral, but brushes it off as a trick of the light.]

Miss?

[YEEP.

All the golf clubs go clattering to the floor. That was almost a Three Stooges quality double-take she just did. Good lord, look at the size of her eyes.]

Yes! I wasn't--I--oh!

...Hello.

[Oh, yes, nice save, Attika. You sound totally calm, and not at all paranoid.]

[Castiel tilts his head in confusion before moving forward to help Attika pick up the golf clubs.]

My apologies for startling you. Are you alright?

[Reiner was on his way back to his room after taking out a fairly large stack of books, although due to the amount of literature in his bandage arms, obscured his view a fair bit. Blue eyes would peak ever so often behind several spines or pages to make sure he didn't bump in to anyone, like Castiel.]

Ah, watch out.

[It was a small warning as he stepped to the side, the mound of books wobbled and one dropped to the ground. There was a small sigh from the cursed man as he glanced at the fallen novel. The angel could notice that it had something to do with vampires.]

I'm sorry to bother you, can you pick it up? I would do it myself but...

[He gestured his head to the stack with a weak smile.]

[Castiel picks the book up and slides it back onto the top, glancing at the cover curiously.]

Why are you reading about vampires?

[There was surprised blink at the question before his expression turned embarassed.]

Ah... Well...

[This was awkward.]

I know one, on board. I was just curious about her... traditions.

[Castiel stares at Reiner for a moment before answering.]

I...see. I was not aware there was a vampire aboard.

[Castiel gestures to the tower of books.]

Would you like some help carrying those?
