there is more than one French word for "to know". i'm not sure which one you speak of, please enlighten me.

however, i do know that the word "savvy" comes from the French word "savoir", which also means "to know".

French always provides good insight into daily life !

on the essays...
YOU CAN DO IT !!!.... *alllll night looong* ;)

i'm doing endless illustration on the computer at this point. take comfort in the fact that we both will have bug-eyes.

oops, i was wrong. i was thinking of "essayer," but that's to test. it's the tiredness talking. don't forget to blink or else your brain will dry out.

oh ya ! that sounds more famailiar... i wouldn't have known unless you said it though.

hope your essays went / are going well.

.French Lesson 101.

savoir - to know something

connaitre - to know a place

gathered from my French dictionary... after research i'm assuming either there's another word for knowing SOMEONE, or connaitre can be used in that sense as well.

why is french so much fun <3

so. it's like this, according to ralph schoolcraft, the self-fulfilling prophesy of a professor:

you are right about that someoneness and connaitre and everything else you said, mostly, sort of. way to be awesome! spanish has the same bit of fun with ser and... another verb. yeah.

dan, your journal is suddenly educational and I like it.

fancypants mcgee,
jenny

p.s. I sent you another encouragement card. will it work this time? will it?! the suspense is tremendous.

Are you sure that you aren't smoking banana peals and listening to Desi Arnez sing Babalou? Cos that's what it seems like to me.

Love!
