grumpy toad king and other critters

yesterday we had a barbecue in the garden and i found this cute toad in the garden pond! even though he was anything but amused about me removing him from his empire i was able to take a few pictures of him before safely sending him back to where he belongs:

he really has this arrogant king-like expression XD

regarding the snails: even though it was a baby its shell easily measured ~6cm already - they grow VERY big:

and they even seem to love having a shower XD

oh wow :O!! they are huuuge!! omg that is so cute, the one taking a shower xD! How did it feel when you held the baby snail? cold and slimey? was she heavy?

and mr. toad definitely does have an arrogant look to his face, hehe :p

she was cold but surprisingly not very slimey - just a little bit ^^ she slid along my thumb but i could easily take her off and return her to the box. and yes, she even was somewhat heavy i can imagine that they get quite a weight. the shell is very pretty - it reminded me of "guylian chocolate sea shells"

ive heard of people who polish their snails shells with olive oil to make it more shiny XD makes me think of: "snail-spa"

Awww.. das Foto mit der Hand ist toll! Ich liebe Kröten.. so schön warzig! xD
Ich finde das toll, daß du Reptilien & Insekten magst! :D
So eine Schnecke hätte ich nämlich auch total gern.. und einen Hummer <<3 ..und.. naja, aber mein Freund findet das (wie die meisten halt) totaaal ekelig.. deswegen haben wir Vögel. :7

Und da erinnere ich mich gerade an deinen Comment zu meinen Vögeln: JA! Vögel SIND die gehässigsten Tiere auf der Welt. Sie machen alle Sachen kaputt, von denen sie genau wissen, dass sie DIE nicht kaputt machen dürfen, hängen ständig trink- und futternäpfe aus, und wenn ich sie nicht rechtzeitig rauslasse, schreien sie, wenn ich im Schlafzimmer bin, oder den Fernseher anmache.. SONST NICHT.. nur dann. :(

..das klingt jetzt ein bisschen so, als würde ich meine Vögel nicht lieb haben. xD;;
Ganz im Gegenteil! Das sind 3 verwöhnte Diven und ich tue alles für sie. :3

garnicht! ich weiß genau was du meinst - ich mag vögel nämlich auch sehr *g* aber sie sind halt einfach auf eine sehr liebenswürdige art und weise frech und boshaft. ich denke das macht auch ihren ganz besonderen charme aus. ^^

was ich an kröten mag ist, dass ihre haut kein bisschen schleimig oder glitschig ist, so wie bei vielen fröschen. sie sind kalt und schrumpelig XD so süß.

ich finde eigentlich kaum ein tier "ekelig" in dem sinne. ich war schon als kind von allem fasziniert was da so kreuchte und fleuchte... nur vor hornissen hab ich irgendwie angst, frag mich nicht wieso - mir hat noch nie eine was getan, aber ich find sie irgendwie bedrohlich X3.

krebse sind übrigens auch total genial! ich hab ja derzeit nur 2 amanogarnelen bei meinen axolotl im becken, aber die sind schon so putzig... *hach* ich muss ihnen unbedingt noch ein paar freunde kaufen. ^^
