So I think I watched this movie more out of curiosity than anything else. And you know that? It was not as bad as I thought it could be!
It's the story of Valerie, a young girl who lives in a village in medieval times that is terrorised by a wolf. The fragile truce that was in place with the beast breaks when her sister gets killed, and Valerie's world is turned upside down.
Questions such as how to kill the wolf or is the wolf maybe a werewolf are mixed with a love triangle typical to teenage films which would star a pretty blond and two mysterious very opposite young men :) All of this benefits of a dark light horror atmosphere designed to run a couple of chills down your back at the right moments. One of the highlights for me is as always Gary Oldman, who is highly entertaining in any role of this type, playing the crazed obsessed dangerous killer.
The writing is simple, it has a good directing that keeps you on your toes and has the suspense running, a few good twists in the plot, and just keeps one entertained through the film.
Not for everyone if you're not too much into teenie horror movies, but I found it entertaining enough to have been happy to see it, and actually found it to be a nice positive surprise :)
On another note, I need to see White Collar!! Any thoughts around on the new episode?
