Now I had been really disappointed about missing this one when it came out in the movies, and I was very much looking forward to making up for that! And now that I have seen it, I know I was right to :)
I won't try to summarize the story of the film, because it is a pretty simple concept. However how it is then written, acted and shot is bringing in a spin that is highly enjoyable. Great lines, very human identifiable characters, and both fun and serious situations make for good entertainment.
It also had a twist that I did not see coming at all, all the more fun! I literally gasped at my tv, which must have looked hilarious.
I'm usually not a fan of Steve Carrell, but I did like him in this. Julianne Moore and Emma Stone were awesome as usual, and Ryan Gosling... *sighs* I cannot even begin to say anything about Ryan Gosling. Oh My God.
Since I saw this right after Friends with benefits, I realized I consider this as a more grown up version of a romantic comedy, where Friends with benefits clearly has a younger audience.
So if you want to have fun, spend a good time with great characters, or just drool at Ryan Gosling, this film is for you. If you don't want any of that... I would still recommend :)
