And now, to the future!

Tia looked up from her book to glance out the window distractedly. Well, not so distractedly as all of that. Really, she looked over the cafe briefly and then out the window. There was no rain smacking against the panes but the sky outside was overcast. It could very well start to rain. It had that look. Anyway, Daniel hadn't entered while ( Read more... )

"How in Merlin's name are you supposed to read that?" Daniel had strolled on into the cafe, sighting Tia with her nose stuck in her book. He knew what it was about, all right. Plants. Blasted plants. Not that he had anything against them, mind you, but he never would be able to figure out what she found so intriguing and wonderful about them. Now he was leaning over her shoulder, looking down at mess of a note she'd written on the napkin. Actually, it wasn't that messy. To be fair, if he'd written something on a napkin without looking away from what he was reading, it would have looked like a bunch of gibberish. But at least with hers, he could read it!

He smiled at her before plopping down in the seat across from her. He'd order a cup of tea in a moment, but for now there were greetings to be had!

"Interesting stuff then, eh?"

Tia was snapped out of her Herbologist Trance with a blink and smiled at Daniel over her shoulder. "Hey." As for the crack about her notes, she barely paid it any mind. "What, they make perfect sense." At least she assumed they would later when she refered to them. It would all come back to her. You know she'd heard once that people who were prone to doodling could look at a doodle they'd done and remember what they'd been listening to at the time if they stopped to think on it.

In any case, intrigued as she was by the book, Tia closed it happily now that Dainel was here. "It is," she assured. "Did you know they've got a kind of sweet potato that eats gnomes?" She knew perfectly well that he couldn't have cared less and so she let the subject drop, pushing the book aside. "Have a bit of trouble getting here?"

He had no doubts that they would make sense to her -- as she was the one who wrote them down... but to him? Even if he could read the writing, he still didn't understand it. Perhaps he had not been a horrible student in Herbology... no wait, he had. His mark for OWLs, if he recalled correctly, had been an A. Which wasn't dreadful, but it wasn't exactly amazing either, now was it? So he'd leave the brains for plants to her ( ... )

Tia smiled at his answer as it was entirely predictable. "And I did," she agreed with a matter of fact tone. Something would have been wrong if he'd hurried directly here; that just wouldn't have been Daniel. Nor had she expected it. They were just meeting up- thus the book. Truth be told, Tia didn't think they'd specified a time frame at all. She'd just figured she'd hang out and relax for awhile and when her friend got there he would. It was the perfect situation all around ( ... )
