An excellent article on why the "sanctity of marriage" argument against gay marriage has, quite frankly, no basis whatsoever.

Google it for yourself and see if you can find a single reference to the "sanctity of marriage" before the Massachusetts Supreme Court legalized same-sex unions in that state.

Unfortunately.

Of course, the rest of it may well be true. But I won't read it to find out.

Yeah, and while I really, really enjoyed a link in the comments to a scholar who wrote about same-sex Christian unions in the 10th-14th century, some Googling soon proved that he was generally disagreed with by all the other scholars.

But I really enjoyed the article. I think its overall point: there is no such thing as traditional marriage, it's constantly changing-- is a really good one, and one that I wish more people got!
