Translation - Don't Bother

So Newbury Comics called - not one thing they wanted. Which is BULLSHIT. I'm sure they'll give me some spiel about "not in good condition" and "scratches" but I went through the disks yesterday and with one or two exceptions they were great. The covers were great, the albums were great. And there were several in there that I'm sure people want. Not ( Read more... )

I've gotten enough interest that I will compile a list and publish it. I do not think you would want any of them (No Duran Duran and no Depeche Mode - those are in the "HOLY HELL KEEP!" box. :P)

However, the first person who criticizes my 10 year old self's taste in music will get their lawn decorated with Huey Lewis and the News Albums. :)

You should see the cassettes I'm dumping - you wouldn't want any of those by any chance? *grins*

Norwood - the new big one where I got some of my Purple Wall of Vinyl. I'm just cranky because NC is convenient and even a bit of extra cash is better than NO extra cash. I don't really want to trek all over hunting down the best price when I should be concentrating on other things. Like selling fabulous shoes. :)

The problem with going to chains like NC is that they are connected with every other NC. They have a huge database of stuff they have in stock. When someone brings stuff in they check it against that database, and have a formula to decide if they can afford the stock, based on salability. While you stuff may be in good condition they may already have it in stock, and more than they feel is safe to keep in stock. I personally have never really "liked" NC.

See - I thought that's WHY I'd have an edge. That they have connections to the whole database, and they'd see if they needed something elsewhere. I didn't put in CRAP, some of it I own now on CD.

Although from the reaction there's some sort of black market for vinyl and people actually WANT it so I'll be making a list. I just happen to be almost sure that what I'm KEEPING is what people want, and those are collectors items (some 12" Duran Duran singles I've had since I was 13, that is the only place one particular cover or song appears, for example)

One of the albums I took in was a NIN single - those are ALWAYS in demand, it's a big deal to the collectors, and I'm certain it will fetch a nice price on Ebay. Fuckers.

Anyway - this is a lot of fuss for crap that isn't worth the money paid for in 1975. I'm getting sick of it. Honestly.
