it's finally dawning on me, after a big FAIL at a book list and some quick research on selling books on Amazon/Half.com, that it's just not feasible to put the effort in to sell my book collection. It's stressing me out, the shipping will make me crazy, and at a potential sale price of a penny each - might net me $100. Maybe. Which is depressing ( Read more... )

Books? Free? Two of my favorite words! Yes, please! :)

The dime store Harlequinn romances are a little lame for my tastes, but I keep hoping there's some decent romance literature out there somewhere. I like Sherrilyn Kenyen, but I don't know if that counts as romance or fantasy or smut. :) I'd love to see what you've got. We mostly read a lot of fantasy, classics, and a bit of sci-fi.

Oh I have vampire smut up the wazoo! In fact - thanks to swapping I have all the Sherrilyn Kenyons. and they're in the to-go pile.

You will totally have fun in my book boxes, if you ignore my messy house. :( dancer isn't allowed in until I get rid of stuff. Email me off LJ - I have a lot of time free right now, just have to work around a couple of clients. Whenever is convenient for you I can come get you, or have you pop by, or meet in the middle.

you need to come here tho - 20 boxes won't fit in my car, plus four+ bookkcases full. Yeah. I used to have disposable income! :)

No I hadn't. I do like the site and interface, but it's pretty much the same thing - I'll potentially net less money than it will cost me to ship and send. There's still the mental "ARGH" of dealing with it, and having the books around for longer while this gets up and working.

I have 20 boxes in the other room, and two bookcases packed full right now - the DB says over 2000. Mentally, this is SO overwhelming, and I'm just done. I'd rather put my efforts into selling things I can make some money from. I just want them gone from underfoot.

I'm going to call www.gotbooks.com to come get them all once one or two people who have expressed interest have a look through. I've been staring at them for years - I think this will be a good thing.
