Just saw the Desolation of Smaug Saturday night.

I am a very happy hobbit right now. ::squeeps::

I love the song from the first part. Good to see that they are keeping the same quality level of music! :-)

The thing I love about both songs is how old they feel. Old, bright, and beautiful.

Hope you enjoy your viewing of the film! I'm going again on Thursday. 'Cause...one does not simply admire the greatness of Smaug only once ;)

I feel that too. It's great that the music gives the viewers the right feeling of the LOTR world. It IS old and beautiful.
That's good they don't try to modernise it too much, to make it more understandable for those who are not fans of the books and popped in the cinema only to have a glance on "Sherlock" and "John".

I think I'll see it more than once, too :-)
