1x09 Out of the Past

I wonder if Katara should have taught Aang bloodbending. She's not a character I normally care about, but since she can bloodbend and since she's Katara, she must have been pissed. And, um, isn't it a little broken if they can use their power on so many people at once? I like really threatening villains, but...that looks like it would require a lot of concentration. Bending a large amount of water, it would be all together in one space. People can't all be mushed together, but maybe it's only possible because Yakone/Tarrlok made them all do the same thing. Yes, that explanation is decent.

I like Toph's voice. Everyone sounds so young, but being a badass loli was Toph's thing so it's cute.

I'm not interested in Mako or Bolin at all. I usually like comic reliefs, but Bolin is starting to get old. Mako's tsundere routine is awkward. It seems like he goes back and forth between throwing fits at her and being in ~love~ with her with no in-between. So immature for someone with his backstory. I liked them both at first, but now there are so many more interesting characters. Lin is a badass, there is so much potential with Tenzin mentoring his father's reincarnation, Korra is Korra, and Asami has some nice daddy angst. Mako and Bolin...I just can't get into.

Asami didn't get to do anything so Mako and Makorra could shine. Blegh. All she did was worry about Makorra. ;_; The Makorra in this episode seemed forced and even if it is kind of appropriate in context, thinking of Korra as Mako's damsel makes me sad. She should be the seme.

That was really clever of you at the end there, Korra. Not very elegant, but definitely clever. You too, Naga. Good job.

We're not going to be seeing more of Tahno, are we? That's a shame.

If someone wants to try to convert me to the Fabulous Bending Brothers' fan club, feel free. I don't care much about this show unless it's close to Satoday, but I'd like to like the main characters more.
