why is it we spend so much effort being different...

but then we get excited when we find something in common with someone?

Perhaps because we're reminded of our true self?

hmmm...well, I know that sometimes it's lonely being different. For the longest time I felt I was the only person who believed the things that I did. When I finally met people who shared common beliefs or bonds, I felt like I wasn't alone and my cause was not lost. I'd like to maintain my individuality while still finding commonality with others.

I agree - being different for me is agreeable now, but there was a time I didn't appreciate it. I don't know, it was a just a fleeting thought I had the other day...meeting people here in the city, or just people watching and observing the way people communicate -- it's a hobby of mine.

Because the world is one mass set of chaos. Everyone is different in one way or another... this is chaos is a pleasant thing at times... say moving to another city. However the finding of something in common with someone brings a little bit of order to the world and the way it works.

that word chaos is so forceful to me, and I like it. it reminds me that the world and how it works is much bigger than we little specks of humans can understand. chaos and order have to work hand in hand once in a while.
