if you want washington to be more like texas than maybe you should get the fuck out of here. this is a liberal state, you want to live in a red state than leave. last time i checked freedom of speech was one of the things we hold in high regaurd in this country. she had her son taken by a senceless war, honorring his memorie is wonderful, but giving the war and leaders who sent him there any kind of akilades is disturbing at best. how could anyone promote something that took there child, were is the real grief. just being a good patriotic american i quess, perhaps she should speak out for the mothers who still have children to try and keep alive rather than fallowing the statis quoe. you don't want this to be like another vietnam, well niether do i. that went on for years with no real resolution. many people lost there lives, or limbs, families and minds fighting that war. and then years later officials admit it was frought with mistakes and a clear goal was never realized. i dare you to post this were a vietnam vet would

To insult people that are trying to fight for freedom of speech and uphold ideals that they are worth less than your blinding liberal propaganda is what I was speaking about. Honestly I was hoping to get a response, but i'm afraid that i am not going to sink to your level and swear at you

i am a poor speller. this is not by choice, i'm just bad at it. no body's perfect i have my flaws, but spelling is not a reflection of my intellect. i'm sorry to offend you by my swearing, but i feel it sometimes best expresses what i'm trying to get across than using family friendly euphomisms. however, for mutual understanding i will try to hold back. as far as my using an anonymous it's because i don't know you and you don't know me, but other people on livejournal do and i don't want them in my life anymore. i was just checking posts out of bordom and gravitated twords yours. i don't usually post, but i felt my side needed to be defended. now, for the real arguement. i just didn't understand what the original beaf was. you never gave a clear example of what these protesters or the person who "lechured" your friend did that was truely disrespectful. often, i think the right wing war supporters thinks us librals are against them or there loved ones over seas. but trust me when i say that most of us believe the real

What the protesters did that I think was truely disrespectful was not bothering to give any attention or direct respect to the representation of military in the parade, I don't like the fact that on Memorial Day the idea of children protesting the war got more recognition then the people that signed up to fight for our country wether the war was for better or worse

Ok first off you both sit here accusing the other of having some blind opinion about this subject when neither of you can fully understand the others viewpoints. Secondly Desert Storm, and Vietnam were not wars. They were police actions. In order for a police action to become a war congress (not the president, but congress) must declair war on the country. We never declared war on Vietnam, so it wasn't a war. Same with Desert Storm and Desert Fox. Also, it IS incredibly disrespectful to tell a mother that her son died for nothing. They could have atleast said something along the lines of "I dont agree with the war, but I am sorry to hear that your son died." Now stop bickering about who's opinion is correct because its pointless and neither of you can prove the other one wrong, thats why they are opinions.

i think we should just agree to disagree. and zack you made good points. in my defense, just because something is defined war by exacting political standards doesn't mean men and woman aren't going to spend years in a foriegn unfriendly country being shot at. so save the sudo-intelectual facts for your social studies class.
Please keep it civiltibbs270August 9 2005, 10:22:02 UTC
I just had to delete a post from another Anonymous poster who, I suppose, knows our first anonymous poster. I did this because it was very unkind, to put it nicely. Now I understand this is a forum for expressing your opinion, however it is still my journal and if your going to post your opinions on it, then all I ask is that you keep it civil. Thank you.
