I just read an article about some pregnancy pact that has led to 17 teens, most of them under the age of 17, to getting pregnant. And they couldn't be happier

I saw this too, and was perplexed, until I remembered that many of the girls in the graduating class of my first year of teaching have kids already. More than one in some cases. And they couldn't be happier. That mentality is sadly pervasive in some rural communities... *sigh*
